Dr. Jacklyn Voelkl - Principal

My name is Jackie Voelkl.  I am very excited for the year ahead and the opportunity to grow and learn with and from the entire John Weldon School community!  This year marks the start of my 24th year in education.  In addition to my administrative experience, my tenure includes time teaching 2nd grade, 4th grade, kindergarten and 5th grade.  Prior to starting my career, I obtained my undergraduate degree in elementary education from Saint Louis University and later obtained a master’s degree and doctoral degree in educational leadership from Maryville University.

In addition to my role as an educator, I am a proud wife to my husband of 19 years, Scott (a graduate of Francis Howell North) who currently serves as the building Principal at Saint Charles West High School and mom to my three children, Lucy (16), Andrew (14), and Jackson (12), as well as, our fur babies Auggie, our 4 year old golden retriever and Max, our 1 year old chocolate lab.  When there is free time to be found, I love cooking, reading, running and visiting with family and friends on the Hill — the Italian neighborhood in St. Louis city where I was born and raised.

I believe the relationships between families and school are vital to the success of our students and am eager to collaborate with all of the John Weldon families over the course of the school year. I look forward to continuing to provide a rich learning environment guided with love and support.  Please do not hesitate to reach out in the days and weeks ahead as we prepare to embark on a successful 2022-2023 school year.

Mallory Vorce - Administrative Intern

My name is Mallory Vorce, and I am thrilled to be joining the John Weldon community this year! This will be my 13th year in education.  I started my career in North St. Louis at Imagine Academy of Academic Success, a charter school, where I taught 2nd grade.  Then, I moved to Francis Howell and have spent the past ten years at Independence Elementary as a 1st grade teacher and a 3rd grade teacher. I have two master's degrees, one in educational leadership from Arkansas State University, and the other from Lindenwood University for elementary education.

I have been happily married to my husband, Brian, for 8 years.  Brian is the Public Affairs Officer for Veterans Canteen Services. We also have two children.  Our daughter, Vanessa, will be turning 7 very soon and is excited about 1st Grade!  She loves art, swimming, and exploring St. Louis! Our son, Landon, just turned 5. He loves anything to do with dinosaurs and sharks. You can find our family at the St. Louis Zoo and the Aquarium frequently. Over the summer, we also adopted a puppy!  Her name is Pebbles.  She is 5 months old, and we all adore her. In my free time, I enjoy traveling, attending Cardinals games, and reading.

I am so excited to be stepping into the role of administrative intern for John Weldon. I look forward to working with all of you this year and building our relationship!
