Principals

Dr. Jacklyn Voelkl - Principal
My name is Jackie Voelkl. I am very excited for the year ahead and the opportunity to grow and learn with and from the entire John Weldon School community! This year marks the start of my 25th year in education. In addition to my administrative experience, my tenure includes time teaching 2nd grade, 4th grade, kindergarten and 5th grade. Prior to starting my career, I obtained my undergraduate degree in elementary education from Saint Louis University and later obtained a master’s degree and doctoral degree in educational leadership from Maryville University.
In addition to my role as an educator, I am a proud wife to my husband of 20 years, Scott (a graduate of Francis Howell North) who currently serves as the building Principal at Saint Charles West High School and mom to my three children, Lucy (17), Andrew (15), and Jackson (13), as well as, our fur babies Auggie, our 5 year old golden retriever and Max, our 2 year old chocolate lab. When there is free time to be found, I love cooking, reading, running and visiting with family and friends on the Hill - the Italian neighborhood in St. Louis where I was born and raised.
I believe the relationships between families and school are vital to the success of our students and am eager to collaborate with all of the John Weldon families over the course of the year. I look forward to continuing to provide a rich learning environment guided with love and support. Please do not hesitate to reach out in the days and weeks ahead as we prepare to embark on a successful 2023-2024 school year.

Mallory Vorce - Assistant Principal
My name is Mallory Vorce, and I am thrilled to be continuing my role here at John Weldon Elementary as the Assistant Principal. This will be my 14th year in education. I started my career in North St. Louis at a charter school where I taught 2nd grade. Then, I moved to Francis Howell and spent ten years at Independence Elementary teaching both 1st and 3rd grades before coming over to John Weldon as an administrator. I have two master's degrees, one in educational leadership from Arkansas State University, and the other from Lindenwood University in elementary education.
I have been happily married to my husband, Brian, for 9 years. Brian is the Public Affairs Officer for Veterans Canteen Services in St. Louis. We also have two children. Our daughter, Vanessa, is 8 years old and is excited about 2nd grade! She loves art, swimming, and exploring St. Louis! Our son, Landon, is 6 years old and is in 1st grade. He loves anything to do with dinosaurs, sharks, and the outdoors! We also have a rescue dog named Pebbles that is 2 years old and thinks she is one of the kids too! In my free time, you can find our family at Cardinals games, exploring St. Louis sites like the aquarium and the zoo, and at all of our kids' events.
I love the community and relationships that John Weldon has, and I want to continue growing those this year. I believe that partnerships between the school, community, and the families is the way to make our school a wonderful place for all of our students. I look forward to getting to know more of you this year!
